Templates and Translation

Paligo templates cannot be translated directly. But, by using Paligo's content reuse features, it is possible to add translatable content to a template. It works like this:

  • To add a section to a template, create a regular topic and add the content to it. Then insert that topic as a component in the template.

  • To add an admonition to a template, create a suitable admonition component and add the content to it. Then insert the admonition as a component in the template.

  • To add a combination of elements, such as paragraphs, images and lists, create an informal topic and add the content to it. Then insert the informal topic as a component in the template.

To translate the content, send the components for translation. When the translation is made, it applies to the components and is available wherever the components are used, including in templates.

Caution

If you use components in templates, be aware that any changes that are made in the components will also be inherited by the templates.
