Unordered Lists

Unordered lists are also known as bullet lists, bulleted lists, and bullet point lists. They use a symbol, often a dot, instead of a number and can make information easier to read. For example, the following image shows an unordered list:

Use unordered lists for:

  • Listing the most important points (key points)

  • Simplifying long, complex information

  • Listing examples or instructions that don't need to be in a specific order.

To create an unordered list, use the unordered list icon Unordered_list_small.png in the Editor's toolbar. For more details, see Create a List or Procedure.

If the information in your list does need to be in a specific order, use an ordered list or procedure instead. Unordered lists are only for information that does not have to be followed in a sequence.
