Nexus Search
Nexus Search is Paligo's advanced search, built into Nexus Portal and ready to use without any setup. It gives better results than the default Paligo search from the start, and it offers faceted search based on the taxonomies you have already assigned to your topics.
Nexus Search is included for everyone who has Nexus Portal. Paligo builds the search index each time you publish to Nexus and hosts it with your portal, so you don't need an account with a separate search provider. When your portal has more than one language, readers get results in the language they are viewing.
Turn Nexus Search on or off
Nexus Search is off by default. To turn Nexus Search on or off:
Open your layout in the Layout Editor.
Select Search engine.
Set Use Nexus Search to Enable. To turn it off, set it to Disable.
Save the layout and republish the publication.
Note
A site uses one search engine. If Algolia or Coveo is also turned on in the layout, Nexus Search is not used.
Turn on faceted search
Faceted search lets readers filter their search results by taxonomy. Each taxonomy you have assigned to your topics becomes a group of facets on the search page, and the values a topic is tagged with become the facets in that group.
To turn on faceted search:
Open your layout in the Layout Editor and select Search engine.
Set Use Nexus Search taxonomy facets to Enable.
Save the layout and republish.
Note
Facets only appear when Nexus Search is turned on and the output is a Help Center.
Choose which taxonomies become facets
By default, every taxonomy you have assigned to your topics becomes a group of facets. To use only some of them, enter their names in Taxonomies to use for Nexus Search facets:
Separate the names with a semicolon, for example
Product;Audience.Names are not case sensitive, so
productandProductmatch the same taxonomy.A top-level taxonomy includes all of its values.
A taxonomy that sits inside another taxonomy includes only itself and the values under it. It appears under its top-level taxonomy.
Leave the field empty to use all taxonomies.
This setting only applies when Use Nexus Search taxonomy facets is set to Enable.
