Delete Salesforce Articles and Navigational Topics

Abstract

How to use Paligo to delete an article or navigational topic in Salesforce Knowledge.

To use Paligo to delete content that already exists in Salesforce Knowledge:

  1. Display Salesforce Preflight.

    1. Locate your publication in the Content Manager and select its dotted menu (...).

      Note

Salesforce Preflight is only available if your publication has multiple levels of topics (nested content).

    2. Select Publish to display the Publish document dialog.

    3. Select HTML and then select the Salesforce Nested Layout that you want to use for publishing.

      Note

Salesforce Preflight is only available if you use a Salesforce Nested Layout.

  2. Select the Salesforce tab.

  3. Select the trash icon for the resource you want to remove.

Salesforce preflight has a row for each article. The articles that were created in Salesforce and do not have an equivalent in Paligo have a red trash icon.
  • If you delete an article, Paligo removes that article from Salesforce Knowledge.

  • If you delete a navigational topic, Paligo removes that navigational topic only. Any articles that were "children" of the deleted navigation topic remain in place. They still exist in Salesforce Knowledge's "Articles list".

If you cannot see the article or navigational topic you want to delete, use a different publication to access Salesforce Preflight. It needs to be a publication that does not contain the content you want to delete. Remember, the Salesforce tab in Preflight only shows content that:

  • Exists in Salesforce already

and

  • Is not part of the current publication.

When you use a publication that does not contain the content you want to delete, that content should appear on the Salesforce tab.
